Let’s make cooking a smidge more joyful and a whole lot more delicious.
As mothers, we’re faced with the never ending task of answering three questions every.single.day.
What’s for breakfast?
What’s for lunch?
What’s for dinner?
Then there’s the dreaded refrain of “Moooom, I’m huuuuungry. Can I have a snack?”
It’s enough to drive even the most food loving, organized, type-A mom a bit batty.
Add on all of the tiny (and huge) to-do’s floating around in our brains day after day…it’s no wonder we resort to frozen meals, take out, and the same three homemade dinners week after week.
I know how you feel because I’ve been answering those same questions day in and day out for 10 years of motherhood.
I’m a nutritionist and a trained chef, but I was still brought to my knees by the near constant attention required to keep my growing family fed.
I wanted them more than fed, I wanted them nourished.
I wanted them more than nourished, I wanted them to be delighted with the delicious homemade meals I prepared.
The problem was that I didn’t have hours a day to spend cooking.
A sink full of dishes and a trashed kitchen was the opposite of my idea of a good time.
I wanted to revel in seasonal eating without constantly having to reinvent the wheel (or meal plan) every week.
So, I created what I dreamed of having.
A constantly refreshed collection of family favorite meals that were balanced, simple, and delicious.
Oh, and they didn’t require a personal chef and part time dish washer.
What you’ll find inside
Over the last three years of Simple Seasons we’ve created over 300 recipes that are worthy of repeating season after season. My hope is that these recipes become part of your collection of family favorites that your children request and remember year after year. The archive is the most searchable database I’ve ever seen…want meatballs for dinner? Type it in and all the options will come up. Looking for breakfasts, cookies, slow cooker dinners, or a summery treat? Search and you shall receive!

I’m nothing if not a season romanticizer. My problem is that I’m always pining for the season to come, but once it arrives I’ve moved on to the next season. To remedy this, I like to make little love lists at the start of each new month to remind myself to actually enjoy all the loveliness happening right now. In my book, everything has a season…books, shows and movies, clothing, ingredients, family activities, home vibes I’m cultivating, everything is influenced the season we’re in. I’ll be sending these little love letters, reminders and encouragements and lists of lovely ordinary things to savor on the 1st of every month.
A Monthly Love Letter
Each Friday I’ll be popping onto the member site and bringing you a seasonally inspired meal plan to help you plan for the coming week. I personally love meal planning on Friday for the week ahead so I can be all set to chill by Sunday knowing our week of deliciousness is already to go. Each week will bring a collection of breakfast, dinner, snack and treat inspiration to get your creative juices flowing when you face the blank meal planning page. I’ll pull recipes from the archive from time to time, but you can look forward to new recipes being added every single week to keep the inspiration fresh.
Weekly Meal Plan Inspiration
Not only have I been feeding my family daily from scratch for the past decade, but I have decades of cooking tips and tricks from my years as a Holistic Nutritionist and Culinary Training. I like to say I’m a lazy cook. I want our meals to be homemade and delicious, but I definitely don’t want to be cooking and doing dishes all day. My laziness ended up being a gift because it helped me develop little kitchen wisdoms that made for the most efficient (and enjoyable) cooking experience! Of course, I’ll share all my learnings with you!
Little Kitchen Wisdoms

“I just have to say, I am certain that you have changed my life. In just these past few weeks, not only have I just loved cooking and being at home more, but I have felt so much better, had so many more special moments with my family, more meaningful time with God, and I am just so thankful for you. I have tried so many diets and have never felt as happy & nourished as I do right now. So thank you so much!”

Your Most Burning Questions, Answered

My nutrition philosophy is to eat the widest possible range of foods of the highest quality possible. We eat high quality dairy, meat, wheat, sugar, etc. and include them all in our homemade recipes. You can expect nourishing food that tastes delicious and I will give substitution suggestions whenever possible!

Nope! The meal plans are meant to be inspirational rather than followed exactly. I will give so many options for using what you have on hand or using ingredients in different ways if you have leftovers which means that an exact shopping list would be unneccesary! I want you to feel freedom and encouragement with these meal plans and recipes to make them your own and make them fit YOUR family.

There will almost NEVER be a recipe that will take more than 30 minutes of hands on preparation time. We keep it simple and want to live our life outside of the kitchen as well! Many of our recipes are set it and forget it type cooking where you leave the ingredients to bubble away for a few hours in your dutch oven or slow cooker. We love to eat in our home, but we don’t want to be cooking all day!

In my opinion food first needs to taste good to nourish your body. We don’t eat foods just for the sake of eating them.
We build our three main meals around protein, nutrient dense carbs, seasonal fruit and veggies, and a bit of fat so we are fully fueled until our next meal!
Then we sprinkle in snacks and treats made with lovely real ingredients in our own kitchens to add the magic.
It’s simple, satisfying, and truly a joyful way of eating.
