Garlic & Parmesan Bread

Garlic bread is one of those cravable foods that people never think to make themselves. They’ll grab some from the freezer section, lamenting the long list of less than ideal ingredients and call it a treat. What I love is that realization that hits when you make something like that yourself and learn how easy it is to make yourself. Saving money? Yea. Better ingredients? Yup. Getting to eat something without feeling that tug of guilt that you could make it yourself? Oh yea. If your kitchen is anything like mine, this garlic bread will be making a regular appearance on your dinner table and save family dinner time after time.

Ingredients:

your favorite soft bread

(we love using these long buns, but you can use whatever baguette or french bread you can get your hands on!)

¼ cup of butter, at room temperature

a bit of flaky salt

2 cloves of garlic, peeled and cut in half

½ cup of parmesan, finely grated

Directions:

Toast your bread of choice in the oven (or toaster) until just browned. Rub the cut garlic clove over the rough toasted surface of the bread. It will impart all of its raw garlicky goodness without too much spice! Spread the butter over top and sprinkle the salt and some freshly grated parm over top while still warm. Voila, the easiest garlic bread you’ll ever make!
