Berry Milkshake

I love a smoothie as much as the next mom. What I don’t love is the massive blood sugar crash that comes from drinking more fruit than most sane humans would eat in one sitting without any protein or fat to balance it out! Instead we drink “milk shakes” which satisfies all our cold and fruity cravings; plus its creamy and protein rich all at the same time. We use a bit less fruit, add a dab of maple syrup to keep the sweetness, use a cup of milk, and a giant scoop of greek yogurt or cottage cheese, add a dash of vanilla for milk shake vibes and you’ve got a heavenly (and super nourishing) beverage.


Ingredients:

8 ounces whole milk

1/4 cup greek yogurt or cottage cheese

1 cup frozen berries

2 tablespoons maple syrup

optional:

a pinch of vanilla powder

Directions:

Put all of the ingredients in a high powdered blender and blend until light and fluffy! Enjoy in a frosty glass with a straw :)
